Nobel Prize of Physics 2013 given to the Young Belgian Scientists Honorary President

The Young Belgian Scientists are extremely honoured to announce, this Tuesday 8th October, the Nobel Prize of Physics has been given to François Englert, Professor Emeritus at the Brussels University and Honorary President of our organisation, and to Peter Higgs.

The Prize has been given for the theoretical discovery of a mechanism that contributes to our understanding of the origin of mass of subatomic particles, and which recently was confirmed through the discovery of the predicted fundamental particle, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.
